Lord Varrik Mel has told the party he will put them in touch with someone who could invite them to a midnight market.

After a few weeks of down-time, the party is summoned to Mivel Shimov's offices and asked to assist him in some rather distasteful work. A mid-level guest on-board, Marina Denaris, needs to be framed for a crime, preferably one that keeps her locked away for quite some time.

She has turned her quarters into a laboratory and is using the transient nature of The Vagabond to evade certain entities looking to steal her work.

Chutnie "Balsin" Bowen has a special interest in the work being done by Marina Denaris and seeks to protect her and her work. If the party makes it known what they're doing, she will hold a grudge.

Resolution

The party took the job from Mivel Shimov, but Jimjar's meddling caused an explosion in Marina Denaris's quarters. After spreading around their mission to multiple above and below decks contacts, Chutnie "Balsin" Bowen began cleaning house. Rheka went to Marina Denaris's quarters to investigate after the security crew cleaned up and found an encrypted parchment. The party went to Jimjar to break the cypher. Jimjar brought the ship's power down for over an hour to crack the code and discovered the parchment was 40% of a dissertation on reencoding the genome of humanoid species. After a day of investigation on who is cleaning house, Sergeon contacts the party and tells them that their prior loyalties are null and void and they are now owned by him.

Next Steps

Sergeon gives them a special commission within the ship as inquisitors.
